Camille Greebon & Micah Murphy

Our Story

Camille grew up in Houston, where her parents still live. She has a younger sister, Cristina. She grew up riding horses which has always been a passion of hers. You could always find her during the summers training & riding her horse, Smoke. After she graduated high school, she went to Louisiana State University for 2 years, before she transfered to Texas Tech University. She graduated from Texas Tech in December of 2007 with a degree in advertising and a minor in English. She works at the Lubbock-Avalanche-Journal in the retail advertising department as a multi-media sales rep.

Micah grew up in Waco, Texas. He has an older brother, Matt, & a younger sister, Emily. He grew up playing soccer & basketball. After high school, Micah left to be a second generation basketball player at York College in York, Nebraska. After one year at York College, Micah transfered to Abilene Christian University and played one more year of basketball and graduated in December of 1999. Micah is the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Whiteface High School in Whiteface, Texas, and will be in his 11th year of teaching/coaching at the time of the wedding. Micah has two beautiful children, Mason who will be 5, & Mary who will be 3 in December. They both absolutely adore Camille and love her. Mason often talks of "Daddy & Camille are going to get married and be together forever." He & Mary both are excited that Camille is going to be a permanent part of their lives. Micah, Camille, Mason, & Mary all attend St. Matthew United Methodist Church, where Micah also plays guitar & sings in the praise team.

It was just about love at first site when we met. Micah & Camille got to know each other online before actually getting together at Buffalo Wild Wings for the first time. They spent the first evening together talking about everything you can think of until 4AM. They had an undeniable chemistry from the first day, and spent most everyday together until Camille moved back to Houston, after graduation from Texas Tech. Micah helped Camille find the job at the Lubbock-Avalanche-Journal two months later. Camille moved back to Lubbock to start her new job. After that, they have been nearly inseparable.

How he proposed...

Micah listened to Camille when she spoke so fondly of the great times she had riding horses growing up which gave him the idea for his proposal. He knew she had a huge love for horses and for the Archer's where she grew up riding. So to set all this in motion he recruited some help from Camille's family. Micah told her father what he had planned and he and Camille's sister helped Micah get in touch with Steve & Andrea Archer, who own the stables where Camille grew up riding. The day of the proposal, Micah told Camille he had a surprise for her. Then took her for a drive with her eyes closed. Knowing that Camille knew all the roads from her house took some wrong turns to confuse her but eventually pulled up at the Archer Stables. Camille opened her eyes and looked a bit confused and Micah told her that part of her Christmas gift was he had set up a time for her to ride with Steve & Andrea, and for them to give him a lesson. All the while they both knew the whole purpose was the proposal. After we had been riding for about an hour, we dismounted our horses, at which point Camille thought we were done. Micah walked his horse over to the center of the arena where Camille was with her horse. Micah tried to say something romantic to Camille but was too nervous to come up with the words. He then just got her attention and knelt down on one knee, pulling the ring out of his pant pocket and popped the question, to which Camille was speechless. It wasn't until Steve, yelled from across the ring, "What's the answer?" that Camille was able to express more than a head shake and said "Yes!"

The reception will also be at Briscoe Manor immediately following the ceremony. You won't have to travel to another location. We think this will make things easier for everyone.

We will be serving a buffet style dinner at the reception, so make sure to come hungry and ready to have a good time.

In case you are wondering we have also registered at Bed Bed & Beyond along with Modern Honeymoons. We felt like we have everything we need, so we wanted to really only register for things we thought we could use. :)
