Honeymoon Wishes

Our story begins at Starbucks several years ago. We met and it was instantaneous compatibility in all arenas. However, the time was not right. So, denying our initial attraction, we focused on creating and maintaing a deep and lasting friendship. In September of 2009 I (Breanne) underwent a major surgery, and it was during my time of recovery that Logan came forward and declared his feelings for me. I of course reciprocated them (and had been waiting for him). Despite finally accepting our feelings we continued to build on friendship until about two months later when Logan went to my father to request permission to date me.

Five months later, on Easter, he proposed. After my many half joking comments of, "You know what the best Easter Basket would be...one with an engagement ring in it!" I was still utterly blown away. I have always said that the man who proposes to me should have David Ryan Harris' song "For You" playing in the background. But when everyone (and I mean all twenty-five family members) gathered together after dinner to hear our friends Jeff and Shannon's (who are incredibly gifted musicians) "new song," I thought nothing of it. "Well let's warm up with another song," Shannon said. And he started to play a song by John Mayer. "No, no." says my mother, "Play that song you played on the street when we were in Paris." And he started playing For You. A couple choruses in Logan gets up and brings out a basket weaved with roses and a beautiful hand-made golden egg resting in moss inside. He then got down on one knee and asked me, with the greatest eloquence and most sincere emotion, to marry him. In my overwhelmed state, I said no. "What?" he said. Through my tears that were bordering on hysteria, I then said yes. (He later told me that when I said no he thought, "I don't have a plan b!") I could not be more blessed or more honored to have the opportunity to share life with my best friend.
