Bride

We were in Gatlinburg with Chase's family for Thanksgiving vacation, and the second day we were there it SNOWED! Everything was covered in a blanket of white and it was absolutely beautiful. So we decided that after breakfast we would all throw on some clothes and head for the mountains! We went into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and anywhere and everytwhere there was snow we would stop to play in it. It was such a great day filled with fun and laughter, little did I know that it was about to get even better! On our way back down the mountain, we stopped at a place called "The Sinks." It has a really pretty waterfall, the river moves very fast and beautiful scenery. So Chase and I walk over towards the railing to go look at the water, talking about how fun the day had been. Then he turns to me and says, "Can I ask you a question?"Not suspecting anything I reply, "Yes.." Much to my surprise, he then got down on one knee with a little black box and asked "Will you marry me?" I was speechless and so shocked! But of course I said YES! It was the most perfect engagement and a moment in our lives that I will never forget.

Groom

While on Thanksgiving break, Sarah and I joined my parents in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for some down time. Or so we thought, since I had exams coming up. The second day we were there it snowed, it was amazing. The Smokey Mountains surrounds a little town and was covered with blankets of white snow. So of course we had to go into the park for a snowball fight. But before you ask, no I did not snowball fight with the ring in my pocket, I had it hidden under the seat of the car. When we arrived at “the Sinks”, which is an area with a beautiful waterfall, I asked her if “she still loved me even with all of my quirks”. Sarah and I had been living together for about four months so I am sure I was breaking some pet peeves of hers. She answered faster than I could even get the question out, YES. So at that point I dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry me, and she again said "YES!" after a shocked, freak-out moment of course. It was the best engagement I could have ever expected, and I cant wait to see what our future holds.
