It's getting so close. We're really excited! I've scrubbed the kitchen with my steamer and all the glass pieces are sparkling. The wedding bouquet is prepped and ready for assembly. The officiant and his wife are wonderful - we're really pleased with them. The ceremony is prepared and the room arrangements are .... arranged. The chairs are rented and the menu is confirmed.

Next week will be blissful as we take our last few steps as single but engaged. In a few short days we will be joined before friends and family, ready to live our lives as a devoted couple.

Yeah, I'm not totally bursting with happiness.

The bouquet is maybe a bit more than I can handle! I've made several brooch flowers, but the cloth flowers are looking pretty sad and assembling the whole thing together seems a bit DAUNTING.

Thank you to everyone who contributed brooches, rings, and earrings. The collection is beautiful and full of meaning. As I look at each piece, I remember why I chose this difficult project.

Cheers,

Ellen

The invitations are all out the door. The list is complete, the label and envelope debris is all that's left.

A special note about our wonderful invitations. The art work was created by my SMIL - stepmom-in-law or Smom. Brenda Pollreisz is a gifted artist and she worked with us to create the perfect invitation. Not only did she paint by hand the scroll work and love birds, but she layered these with other details on her computer before printing them!

Thank you, Brenda!

We plan to turn the original painting she did into a frame for a wedding picture. We'll post a picture here and on Facebook as soon as that happens.

Tick-tock, tick-tock. The day is fast approaching!

The wedding is finally close enough to blog about it. YAY!

Our invitations are finished and we're thrilled. I'll address them and mail them at the beginning of December. It's a major milestone and another thing to mark off our To Do list.

Things we still have to do? I need to finish my bouquet. We're finalizing the menu of savory nibbles and cake for after the ceremony. (Be warned - these goodies WILL ruin your appetite for dinner!) The kids' outfits are not quite finished, but very close. And now that we have a floorplan, I need to find plenty of chairs.

All good things left to do!

With as much as we have finished, the holidays will be all about about the holidays as our wedding day inches closer.

Cheers,

Ellen and Jeremy
