PAUL'S MARRIAGE PROPOSAL: A PLAY IN ONE ACT

ACT I
SCENE I

Lights up on a couple sitting on a futon, in front of the TV. Something occurs to PAUL, and he turns to EMILY.

PAUL: I would like to spend the rest of my life with you; would you like to spend the rest of your life with me?

EMILY: Yes.

PAUL: Let's start shopping for rings.

EMILY: Okay.

END OF PLAY

When the ring finally arrived I had Emily meet me at the restaurant we went to on our first date (before we watched the Mets get beat in Queens). There was champagne, fondue, and me getting down on one knee. The answer was still 'yes.'
