Michael was planning on proposing to Brooke all week long on their carnival cruise! He was going to do it when they met Gavin Degraw but Brooke had too many margs in Mexico and they missed it. He was then going to have them bring out the ring durning formal night for dinner. They fell asleep and woke up too late to go. He was going to have a photographer take a picture with the carnival backdrop..Brooke didn't like her hair and she was sunburnt so she refused to be in a picture. 

Michael proposed to Brooke in the front of the ship, in the dark, under a million stars. It was perfect.
