When we got to the dining room for our last formal night, Tony asked for a bottle of wine and we spent supper talking and laughing at the memories we were making on this trip. By the end of supper, my feet were killing because of my heels and Tony said we should go back to our stateroom so I could change them.
When I opened the door, the room was decorated with roses, the bed had rose petals in the shape of a heart, there was a bottle of champagne on the dresser and chocolate covered strawberries sitting right next to it. I was super happy and turned around and gave Tony and big hug and kiss! After a few minutes Tony suggested that we go celebrate our trip by opening the bottle of champagne at the front of the ship.
When we got there we sat down on these huge round couches and talked about our pasted 5 years together, our new life in Alberta and how we were having an amazing time on this trip ect. After about 15 minutes he asked me if I wanted his suit jacket because it was windy and he thought I might be cold. I gave him a weird look and said "We're in the Caribbean....its a hot wind" so he laughed and said "yeah I guess you're right." We continued talking and about 30 minutes later he asked me if I wanted his jacket again. This time I was actually getting a little cold and agreed to take it. When I finally had it around me, he asked me if I wanted to share a cigar that he had gotten in Puerto Rico and I agreed. He asked if I could get the pack of cigars in his jacket pocket and when I put my hand down to get it, I felt a little box, took it out and immediately my eyes opened wide and I looked at Tony crying and said "IS THIS FOR REAL?!." Poor Tony was shaking like a leaf, had tears in his eyes and had the biggest smile on his face, took the ring from me, popped the exciting question and I obviously said YES!...and then my face went white.
I looked at Tony in a panic and said "DID YOU EVEN ASK MY DAD?!" he looked at me with the cutest little smirk while laughing and said "of course I did!." I was in disbelief that this actually just happened and the rest was pretty much history, I called my family to tell them the good news and spent the rest of the night celebrating!
It was honestly one of the best nights of my life, it couldn't have been more perfect! |
