Lennis had wanted all along to propose to Norma in the presence of her mother, Carmen. On the evening of December 22, 2013, he got his chance, as Norma's mom was visiting and their best friends, the Pressoirs' along with Lennis' sister Carol were coming over for dinner. After dinner Lennis gathered everyone in the living room under the pretense of having a toast to Norma's mom. What no one realized is that Lennis had an ulterior plan. Without arousing suspicion, he setup his laptop computer in the perfect position to record the festivities. That's why you will see Clarens Pressoir's butt so prominently early in the video. Another funny "almost" mishap ocurrs when Dominique Pressoir sits on the arm of the sofa and looks down between the pillow and the sofa arm where Lennis has hidden the engagement ring. Not knowing if she realizes what is about to happen, Lennis makes eye contact with her as if to say "keep your mouth shut, and your face straight". He then proceeds with the toast, promptly forgetting half of the lines he had rehearsed for this moment. But it all goes well, as he pops the question and after a pause that seemed like an eternity to him, Norma finally says yes.
