Ms. Fitzpatrick is an award winning journalist with 14 years of experience in television news. She is currently the Evening Anchor at WWAY-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Amanda is a North Carolina native and loves spending time with her friends and family. Amanda was born in Stamford, CT but grew up in Durham, NC. she is the daughter of John and Joyce Fitzpatrick.
John Sr. retired from the Boy Scouts of America after more than 30 years and Joyce retired from working in education.
Amanda has an older brother named John Jr., who is a pastor of One Love Ministries and lawyer at his own practice in Durham, NC. John and his wife Pauline have two kids, Tre and Cameron.
Amanda enjoys working in the community and has worked in Charlotte, Dallas, Charleston and Atlanta.
While working as the 5&9pm Anchor/Reporter at CW33 in Dallas, she was nominated for 3 Lone Star EMMY awardsand won 3 “Salute to Excellence” in reporting awards by the National Association of Black Journalists.
Amanda was a reporter at the ABC station in her hometown of Raleigh-Durham, NC. While at WTVD, she covered the 2008 presidential campaign. Even traveling to DC to cover the Inauguration of President Barack Obama for ABC network.
Amanda is excited that she has met her soulmate and looks forward to starting her life with her boo!
