 | Keith and I were planning our 1 year anniversary date night, with the idea of recreating our 1st date activities. So, I was excited to get dressed up for dinner, a movie and a late night stop at a local club. However, Keith changed it all up. He took me to a fancy little restaurant in Jackson that both our daughters, Sarah and Nirvana, worked at. When we walked up to our table, a beautiful vase of roses and a bottle of wine was waitng for us!! After enjoying the tasty food, Keith starts fidgeting and stalling. Then he looked up at me and asked me, "You love me right? You’re sure you love me, right?!" I say, "Yes, Of Course I do Baby!" All of a sudden ,I looked down at his hand and he has an engagement ring on the end of his pinky finger!! I looked at him, unable to stop smilling, and asked him, "Really?!! Really?!!!" He nods nervously, "Yes." I just can't stop smiling, feeling like a giddy school girl..."Yes, of course! Yes!" I don't really remember which one of us put the ring on my finger, but it's on there!! And it hasn't come off since!!! As we were getting up from the table to leave the restaurant, Keith looks at me, smiles and says, "Babe, I wanted to get down on one knee, but I just wasn't sure I'd be able to get back up again!" The beauty of growing older is that we have learned to love one another, with our bad knees, warts and all. We laugh at our imperfections, accept one another for who we are and Thank God for the life we have been given. |
