We had talked about "when we're married" but we had never talked about actually getting married. I became very sick and spent a year in the hospital so, it was a surprise when he DID propose. I had just gotten home from the hospital  and was visiting with my family in the livingroom when he dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him!
