Kalei had secretly planned a scavenger hunt that started at brunch with my friends (this girl likes brunch) and a rose with a note on my windshield. We proceeded to several stops based on clues and ended up at Vintage Tavern where we first met. Kalei later appeared with a photo album of our time together. The last picture featured my hand with a ring photo shopped on my finger. I was nervous so it took me a while to flip to the back of the album, and to realize that the hand was mine! After I had my blond moment he got down on one knee to propose! Our dog, Dexter, was there to help Kalei as well. I said yes and we will officially become a family on March 24, 2018!

It started back when we took a vacation to Hawaii. Katie had never been, and many had thought that I would do it while there. That seemed very cliched to me, so I had to do something truly special. I don't remember exactly how the scavenger hunt idea came about, but I knew how to do it a little extra special. While on our flight back from Hawaii, I snapped a photo of her hand on my leg. Once the ring was purchased, I had my mom photoshop it into that photo. While she was out to brunch with her friends, I placed a rose and a note with a different photo on her car. Leaving a photo and flower at each of the different stops, she eventually found her way back to the bar where we first met. Thankfully it was a nice day outside, and the fountain was a good spot to actually ask. With a photo album of our adventures together, I had the photoshopped photo at the back of the album. Although it took her a few minutes to actually figure out that it was her hand in that photo, Dexter was helpful in cluing her in though, she eventually noticed the ring.
