(español debajo) At weddings we often hear similar stories about childhood sweethearts declaring their love for each other. However, the story of how we met is nothing like that. For starters we were born in different countries with more than 3,500 miles between them. Kimberly was born and raised in the rainy city of Everett, Washington, and César was born in the tropical Caribbean paradise of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. So how did we find each other?

Our love story really begins with a simple swipe right by two other individuals, Sarah and Felix. In 2014 Kimberly had recently moved to the Dominican Republic to teach science at a bilingual institute and César, a true capitaleño, had recently returned home after a tour through Europe. But that just places us in the same country. Kimberly was visiting Sarah in the capital when Sarah received an invite to go out for coffee with a guy (Felix) she had been speaking with online. Kimberly agreed to tag along on the coffee date not knowing that this simple night out would change everything. After being the 3rd wheel for cup of coffee, César, a friend of Felix, made his grand entrance.  

Our first date was filled with an unforgettable walk through the historic Zona Colonial, mojitos and what no night in the DR would be complete without - some bachata and merengue dancing. 

Although we grew up thousands of miles apart we have found that we share the same core values and have similar hopes and dreams for the future. With a love for travel and a thirst for adventure we are ready to support each other on the road to achieving our dreams.

En las bodas muy a menudo escuchamos historias similares sobre amores de infancia declarando su amor para cada uno. Sin embargo, la historia de como nos conocimos no es así para nada. Para empezar nacimos en países diferentes con mas de 3,500 millas entre ellos. Kimberly nació y creció en la lluviosa ciudad de Everett, Washington y César nació en el paraíso tropical caribeño Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana. Entonces, cómo nos encontramos uno al otro?

Nuestra historia de amor realmente comienza con un simple “swipe” (desliz) a la derecha por otros dos individuos, Sarah y Félix. En 2014 Kimberly se había mudado a la Republica Dominicana recientemente para enseñar ciencia en un colegio bilingüe y César un verdadero capitaleño, había regresado a casa recientemente de un tour en Europa. Pero eso solo nos coloca en el mismo país. Kimberly estaba visitando a Sarah cuando Sarah recibió una invitación a un Café por parte de un joven (Félix) con quien ella había estado hablando por Internet. Kimberly aceptó acompañar a Sarah a la cita en el Café sin saber que esa sencilla salida en la noche cambiaría todo para ella. Después de ser tercera rueda en el Café, César, un amigo de Félix, hizo su gran entrada.

Nuestra primera cita estuvo llena de actividades como: una caminata inolvidable en la histórica Zona Colonial, mojitos y cual noche en RD termina sin bailar un poco de Bachata y Merengue.

Aunque crecimos separados por miles de millas, descubrimos que compartimos los mismos valores y que tenemos sueños y esperanzas para el futuro muy similares. Con una pasión por viajar y con una sed par alas aventuras, nosotros estamos listos para apoyarnos uno al otro en el camino de lograr nuestros sueños.
