It was a beautiful Easter Sunday when our engagement story began....
We had attended church service and were heading to lunch with Jason's family when Jason stopped Laura to go on a suprise snack picnic to slow down and just take a moment to be in the moment together. Jason parked beside the courthouse in downtown Newton where he proceeded to escort Laura to a near by bench. There he began to explain that he just wanted to take a second out of our busy day to just enjoy the day and take a breather together. He then proceeded to start pulling out various snacks that he had packed and we shared them together all while talking and laughing together. Then he pulled the ring box out of the cooler he had brought and as he did he said, "and then there is this..." Laura instantly came apart and apparently everyone knew that he was going to ask but her. Jason revealed that he had asked Ray and Suzanne in November of 2016 for permission and then he had spent 6 months trying to figure out how to propose in the perfect way. But whatever he had planned never seemed to come together or just didn't feel right. So finally he couldn't wait to ask her to be his forever and chose the perfect place in the middle of the city that we live and love in, right across the street from The Green Room Community Theatre where we met and fell in love, right across the street from the Blue Moon Tavern where Jason asked for Ray and Suzanne's permission, and right down the street where we share our faith together.
The ring that Jason gave Laura was his Grandmother Thelma's engagement ring from the 1930's. A beautiful orange blossom design that suprisingly enough almost fit Laura's finger perfectly. Jason then asked Laura to marry him and of course she said YES!!! Many laughs and beautiful tears where shed on that beautiful day of hope, life, love, and renewal, and thus their engagement story began......
