 | I knew in my heart I wanted her to marry me. In fact, I gave her a ring before I proposed to let her know of my love and devotion to her. I prayed that God would show me the right time and place to propose to her. It happened on her birthday. She asked me to deliver the sermon on her birthday, which was on a Sunday. God moved in a wonderful way. Her daughter was there. Her sisters and brother were present. My oldest son was there also. Her closest and dearest friends were also at worship. We decided to have lunch at a wonderful Italian restaurant owned by a member of the church. When I walked in and saw her family, friends, several members from the church. . . the Spirit said 'now is the time'. We were each asked to say something about our relationship with Lurcretia. I passed on my turn and went last. When it was my turn, I fell to my knees and asked her to marry me in front of God, her family and friends. It was such a joyous time! I never felt so alive! |
