Bride

Miss Rosetta was born in Washington, DC to Mary Cassandra Honablew and Joseph Micheal Benedik. The family bought a farmette in Baden, Maryland, a part of Southern Maryland in Prince George's County. Rosetta attended Barnaby Manor, then Gwynn Park Middle and High Schools, graduating from the Magnet Program, while being in sub programs such as TAG, and many academic and creative clubs. She enjoyed learning after school and earning awards in various competitions. After graduating high school, she attended Penn State and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture Science with minors in International Agriculture and Agriculture Buiness Marketing. While attending Penn State, she had various internships with a local landscaping, nursery, and garden store business, and the USDA. She also traveled abroad studying foreign agriculture in Russia, Germany, Belgium, Holland and France. All of this background helped her decide her career goal was to help farmers be successful, and why not at home and organically since its the best peace-of-mind system of providing food. So then she interned at the Rodale Insititue to learn about applied organic research and practical methods and went to earn her Master Degree in Hohenheim, of Stuttguart Germany. She completed all her courses successfully, but her mother fell ill while she was working on her thesis in Vermont and stopped to take care of her parents. They gifted the family farm to her where she is currently attempting to find a successful farm model to help other local farmers in the area, as what her thesis would have done as well. Rosetta hopes to have the farm as a learning tool for open eyes and ears (and stomachs) for those who want to experience where the food comes from and stewardship. She is happy that her partner, Chris, is such an amazing man to help anyway he can and help her dream become a reality. Their daughter, Iris, thinks the farm is fun and likes eating fresh veggies, fruit, eggs, and cookies, so Rosetta feels part of her work is blossoming already.
