He proposed to Megan in an "awkward" way. Megan worked a "Brunch With Santa" at the local fire department and John asked if she wanted to go hang at her grandparents house. After declining, since it was such a long day with kids, Megan went home to the apartment. They ended up going to dinner and all the while John joked about a ring & even made a plastic straw into a ring. Megan laughed about it and everything was fine. Later that evening at home, John called Megan into the other room for help with something and when she walked in there he was with the ring. :)
