We wanted to give an extra special thank you to everyone listed below.  You all are very important to us and have come from coast to coast to be a part of our big day.  Let the celebration begin!

Hannah Pettinga - Maid of Honor

Maggie Jo’s favorite (and only) sister.  Growing up with Hannah has been such a blessing, despite a few bouts of sibling rivalry over the years.  Some of our most memorable times together have been rollercoaster marathons at Cedar Point, weekend trips to Chicago, teaching Hannah how to snowboard and hanging out at home (How many times have I beaten you at Monopoly?)  Hannah will be a senior at Holland Christian High School this coming year and enjoys playing Varsity Basketball.

Caryn Lucas - Bridesmaid

Caryn and Maggie Jo met over McDonalds ice creams cones on Navy Pier and became fast friends and roommates in Chicago while living downtown for a semester internship program.  Despite the long distance relationship (as Caryn has moved back to her home state of CA) Caryn and Maggie Jo maintain their strong friendship thanks to cell phones and Skype.  All time spent with Caryn is memorable, but a few highlights include walking the pier at North Ave. beach, winning tickets to see Wicked, and Wednesday night dinner and Euchre matches with our good friends Marena and Jodi.  Caryn lives in Modesto, CA with her husband Kevin and is a graphic designer at a local print shop.

Elizabeth Felts - Bridesmaid

Elizabeth and Maggie Jo met their Junior year at Calvin College when they were on the same RA staff.  Elizabeth “Biz” has been a great friend and encouragement to Maggie Jo both in school and out.  Memorable times with Biz including Oldies lunches, YouTube surfing, and late night boy talks.  Elizabeth lives in Wilmington, NC with her husband John and is a Middle School English teacher while finishing her Master Degree at the University of North Carolina.

Jodi Datema - Bridesmaid

Jodi and Maggie Jo are childhood friends and grew up together in Zeeland, MI.  As the oldest of a family of 6 kids, Jodi introduced Maggie Jo to “big family living.”  Jodi and Maggie Jo both went to the Philippines as ambassadors from Zeeland Christian School, in a school partnership that has lasted more than a decade.  Jodi and Maggie Jo enjoy running, camping, and playing Ultimate Frisbee together.  Jodi is currently lives in Redlands, CA where she is completing a Masters in Speech Pathology at the University of Redlands.

Lauren Weessies - Bridesmaid

Lauren and Maggie Jo met their Freshman year of college as floormates in the dorms at Calvin College.  As a soccer player, Lauren wasn’t around a whole lot, but managed to spend enough time to cement a lasting friendship with Maggie Jo.  Throughout the years, Maggie Jo and Lauren have laughed until they cried more times than they can count and can make an adventure out of any situation.  Someday Maggie Jo will let Lauren take her to Disney to make some Mickey Mouse memories, but until then, other memorable times with Lauren include biking the Kal-Haven trail, crashing Alumni parties, and playing DDR until we get shin splints.  Lauren currently lives in Kalamazoo, MI where she has been a Pharmacy Technician at Bronson Hospital for the past 2 years and will be starting Physicians Assistant School at Western Michigan University in the fall.

Tahnee Ellens - Bridesmaid

Although Tahnee and Maggie Jo were mutual friends throughout college, their friendship really developed when they were on staff together their Junior year at Calvin College.  Tahnee is always good for a laugh, a run, or an encouraging word and has brought art into the non-artistic void in Maggie Jo’s life.  Memorable moments with Tahnee include running in the 25k Riverbank Run, late nights spent making surprise birthday presents for friends, and girl time downtown Chicago.  Tahnee lives in Whitinsville, MA and is a High School art teacher.

Niece of the groom and daughter of Matt and Sarah Kassuba. She only had one request after she was asked to be the flower girl.  “Can I dress up like a princess and a wear a tiara?”

Best friend and the oldest brother of the groom.  I have to give special thanks to the “numerous”(more than 5) trucks and boats that he has repaired for me(and all the electrical stuff he has repaired).   I do not think he ever envisioned giving the “family discount” so often.

The older brother of the groom.  He has been there similar to Mark.  He is often very quiet and can make sure he always has sarcasm and insight to lighten the mood.

Great friend, fishing and hunting buddy.  We initially met as roommates and members of “Team 44”.  Thanks for teaching me so much about fishing and hunting.  Thanks for cleaning all those fish in the early years.  It is important for everyone to know that I have caught a bigger bluegill and pike than Duane.

Great friend, fishing and hunting buddy.  For a couple years we were roommates (Team 44).  Thanks to Mike I have a bit more patience.  “Aim Small, Miss Small”

Great Friend and fishing buddy.  Although we took one for the team (illegal duck hunting) I have to say he has been there to offer humor, sarcasm and the life of the party.  Don’t be mad that I shot a Canvasback. (I saw it coming.)

Great friend.  Someone who is always there to make sure that I do not get to serious.  If I do then I know he will bring me back to reality with sarcasm.  I may have an edge on ice fishing but he has me on trout fishing.  Thanks for all the Skype help.

Great friend and even though he was not able to be at the wedding I wanted to make sure he got his spotlight.  Currently in Pusan, South Korea he has been a childhood friend, college roommate, 22nd birthday partier and overall great friend over the years.  Thanks for everything.

Nephew of the groom and son of Matt and Sarah Kassuba.  He should behave himself; however, his big sister said she will take care of him.
