Starr was born in Long Beach, CA to Joseph Taylor and Marian Johnson. She later moved to Corona, CA where she attended middle school and high school. She was involved in Madrigal Choir and the Dance Team, while attending Centennial High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Washington, DC where she attended Howard University. It was during this time that she met her King Man and fell in love!

Tae was born in NW Washington, DC to DaShanta Washington and John Samuel. He attended various schools throughout the DMV area, ultimately graduating from Suitland High School's Visual and Performing Arts Program. After graduating high school he attended Bowie State University and North Carolina A&T. Shortly, after returning back to the DMV area he met and fell in love with his Starrfish!
