Bride

Todd was really calm during our whole trip to Prescott and Sedona, so I didn't think anything out of the ordinary.

Wanting to experience new things together, we traveled up to Red Rock State Park.  We had Lili in her stroller and headed down the asphalt trail.  Traveling along I said, "Oh look, there's a bridge." So he was like, "Okay, let's go down there."

Halfway over the bridge I couldn't believe how serene it was, so Todd said "Hold on, let's take a picture together.  Let me get my camera."  So I turn around and there he is on one knee!  I'm not big on surprises, but loved this one.

After what felt like minutes, I, of course crying, said YES!  But then he did something that made me cry even more... he pulled out a bracelet for Lili and got on one knee for her too.

Groom

Since Kristen and I had planned our trip to go up to Prescott and Sedona, I felt like it would be a great time to propose. I knew that Kristen would not expect it and it would be more romantic that doing it in 115 degrees heat.

I had started to put my plan into place about a month before we headed up the hill. I started looking for places to ask her in the Sedona area on Google Maps. I found what I thought would be a romantic area along Oak Creek in Red Rock State Park. I had found several pictures on an area within the park that had a bridge going over the water and decided that it would be the perfect place to ask Kristen.

The day that we were driving from Prescott to Sedona, I told Kristen that I had a great idea to take my camelback so that we could keep water in there while we were walking around and wouldn't have to carry water bottles. Little did she know that I had another reason all together for the camelback, to hide the ring!

When we got to Red Rock State Park, I wasn't nervous. There was no reason for me to be. I knew that Kristen was the one for me and I knew that I was the one for her. I played coy and and when we saw the bridge "went along" with the idea of walking over it.

Halfway across, I stopped and told Kristen that I wanted to take a picture of the 3 of us on the bridge. She had her back to me and I pulled out the ring and got down on one knee and asked her. Since I would also have Lili in my life, I had the idea to also propose to her and give her something as well (thanks Nick and Elizabeth). She also said "yes" by smiling at me.
