Since so many of you are coming from out of town, and since we definitely don't get to spend enough time together because we live so far apart, we are postponing our honeymoon until the Tuesday following our wedding so that we can spend some extra time together over the weekend! We have planned a couple of fun events that we sincerely hope you will be able to join us for...

Our rehearsal dinner will be held at the church on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 pm. Damon will be preparing some luscious Jamaican food for dinner, in addition to the best pizza in Kalamazoo - Martini's - salad, and drinks.

We would like to celebrate our first official day as husband and wife by going out for a late lunch with you all! Of course we'll be sleeping in Saturday morning after our wedding...but that afternoon we would love to meet to share a meal and just get to spend some quality time together.

We have reserved a banquet room at Old Country Buffet - they have something for everyone, and the price is right - $10 for the buffet, including a bottomless beverage of your choice and countless dessert selections.

We will plan on meeting there @ 2:30 pm on Saturday the 13th. The address is 5220 West Main Street, Kalamazoo MI 49009. It is on one of the main streets in Kalamazoo, and will be easy to find with GPS or via taxi or the city bus.

On Sunday, we are planning to spend the day at the beach at Lake Michigan. The Lake is about an hour's drive from Kalamazoo, and it is a beautiful and fun place to spend a summer day!

The beach is sure to be busy, but there will be plenty of room to spread out blankets, towels, or beach chairs and soak up the sun, swim in the lake, or relax in the shade at one of the parks a few blocks' walk from the beach. There is a public bathroom at the beach, as well as a stand selling snacks like cold drinks, icecream, etc. There is a Subway sandwhich shop about a mile from the beach, as well as fast food and other restaurants and a grocery store. Food and drinks are allowed on the beach.

We will figure out carpooling when the day comes - it will work best if we all meet at a location in Kalamazoo and then caravan to South Haven, because it can be a little tricky to navigate if you've never been there. We may have to be creative in regards to transportation - but we'll figure it out!
