Sarah met Eric in the Humanities and Fine Arts building in college where they were both music majors.  She can't recall the moment they met, but she does remember having a class together (taught by the late, great, Clyde Johnson) - Form and Analysis.  To her surprise, Eric asked her to study (she didn't think he studied at all...) and the friendship blossomed.  She was definitely attracted to him (who wouldn't be attracted to such a cute, amazing talent like him??) and they went on a few dates, but neither was ready for anything serious, so they parted as friends in 1995.

In 2008 or so, Sarah found Eric on Facebook (or maybe he found her - the jury is still out on that one), and they became "cyber friends."  Sarah was in a relationship at the time so except for a couple "hellos" here and there, that's where the friendship remained.  She does remember engaging him in a conversation (online) about politics at one point; it seemed he had been enlightened and this most definitely intrigued and pleased Sarah.

In early 2010, Sarah's previous relationship ended and Eric took notice...

As stated above, Eric met Sarah in in college where they were both music majors.  Eric recalls seeing Sarah and thinking she was cute, but doesn't remember actually asking her to study.  During their study session, he amazed Sarah with his understanding of form and analysis - namely the concept of recapitulation.  So while he doesn't remember actually asking her to study with him, he was impressing her with his knowledge (or, as she found out later, his BS that just happened to be right...).  Anyway, graduation came and went and life went on.

For fear of being too repetitious, we'll summarize:

2008ish - Eric and Sarah become Facebook friends

2009/10ish - Eric sees Sarah is no longer in a relationship

Early 2010 - Eric and Sarah begin talking (this time, not just online) and realize they really like each other.  Sarah takes a trip to Minnesota to visit Eric for their first "real" date in over 15 years and they decide they don't want to walk away from each other again.

By mid-2010, Eric realized he wanted to be with Sarah as much as she wanted to be with him.  He planned the proposal and moved to Charlottesville in January of this year.
