Sarah was born in Taegu, South Korea and adopted soonafter by the Berg's in Richfield, MN.  She arrived in the US on October 28, 1975 as a 7-month old infant and spent the rest of her childhood in Richfield, MN!  In addition to her parents, Paul and Julie (still in Richfield), she has a sister Laura, who lives with her family in Fredericksburg, Virginia (about an hour and a half from Charlottesville).

After graduating high school in Richfield (1993), she went to the University of Minnesota (Morris) where she met the love of her life, Eric Franzen.  Needless to say, Sarah and Eric, while friendly acquaintances, were not ready for each other and, after Eric's graduation in 1995, they went their separate ways.

In the time between 1995 and now, Sarah has been blessed with the most AMAZING daughter in the world, Reagan Riley Eadie (Reagan is 13 years old and will be a freshman at Albemarle High School in the fall). 

Eric was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, and as we like to quip, he has come full-circle back to the Commonwealth!  He spent his early childhood years in Upsala, MN and then by way of St.Cloud, MN, found his way to Little Falls, MN where he graduated from high school (1990).  

After high school, Eric went on a college-tour of sorts, via the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Waldorf College, St.Olaf, and the University of Minnesota (Morris), where he met the love of his life, Sarah (Berg) Riley.  Again, not ready for their ultimate life together, Eric graduated UMM in 1995 and embarked on a journey of his own.

Eric spent several stints on cruise ships as a pianist/keyboard player and even as a music director for Holland America.  He served as a pianist/musician in a few churches, and was his own boss as a handyman!

Eric moved to Charlottesville in January of this year and has become step-dad phenom (Reagan loves him), gardener-extraordinaire, and the most incredible partner and support to Sarah.
