| | | Amma blessed us in 2012 with an embrace and a joyful shower of rose petals. We feel the sacred Heart of all spiritual traditions uniting us in love and service. We ask for the blessings of family and friends, and Amma, Maharaji, Melchizedek, Jesus - the entire family of Spirit. This will be an interfaith celebration!
August 29th is celebrated worldwide by millions as the birthday of Ganesha, the elephant-headed god from India. Ganesha is the gatekeeper, the lord of auspicious beginnings and remover of obstacles guiding the seeker into right thought, speech, and action – alignment with the Grace of Truth – into the sacred Heart within which to commune with Truth, from which to express its nectar. As a couple, we are devoted to supporting each other on this Wisdom path. | | We love to chant! Chanting is singing to the divine. This ancient spiritual practice awakens the heart to its connection with Spirit, Mystery, Love. Chants abound from every spiritual path (you may have heard of the Gregorian or Hindu chanting traditions, for example). You are welcome to join us in this way of creating sacred space for the ceremony. Chants will be in English, Aramaic, and Sanskrit. We will include a special ritual dedicated to Ganesha, on this day when millions around the world will be offering similar gratitude. | | You will be greeted and then served light refreshments as guests gather and mingle. During this time, you will be invited to co-create a special altar piece for the ceremony. You may also have a chance to help decorate the getaway car! | | Everyone will have a part to play. The ceremony unites us as a couple and you to us.
SPECIAL NOTE: We will all have shelter from the sun, but there will be times when you might be most comfortable also in sunglasses or a hat. | | Picnic! Toasting! Dancing! Bouquet Toss!
Potluck and desserts, lemonade, and champagne. Cornbread is a must - if you have a favorite cornbread recipe .... (Potluck details are being sent by Annamarie and Laura)
We do hope you will stay after the ceremony and celebrate with us!
The Bouquet Toss will be at 3:00 when we ceremonially head out for our weekend getaway.
