We met on Halloween 2011 at University Christian Church in Cincinnati, OH.  I almost didn't go because it was right after a big exam and I wasn't sure I wanted to deal with all the little children at the halloween family festival.  I am glad I did though.  Sonny ended up at this event due to Anthony Jones (THANKS, ANTHONY!!!) asking for some more volunteers from people over at Cincinnati Christian University.  

I was working the apple toss for the night, and trust me when I say when you mix fake apples, small baskets, and children with bad aim, apples go flying everywhere.  After watching me chase apples around the room, this charming guy dressed like a farmer decided to come over and help me out.  We ended up talking the whole night, and he asked me out on a date a day later.

After two dates, we made things official.  We quickly realized how much we enjoyed being around each other, how easy it was to just talk and laugh.  Most importantly, we realized our mutual love for God and pursuit of spiritual growth was something that really united us and could help us sustain our relationship and help us thrive!

Six months after our first date, we were engaged!  Now we can't wait to see what is next in our life together!
