Bride

For Memorial Day weekend we were going to visit a good friend in Ohio.  I (Jess) was still living in Iowa so the plan was to drive to Illinois during the day Friday and we were to leave for Ohio Saturday morning. For dinner Friday, Jay suggested that we go to one of the nicer restaurants downtown since we hadn't really seen each other during the gymnastics season.

After a FABULOUS dinner Jay asked if we could walk around downtown since he didn't really know all the places around (little did I know, he was really trying to find the perfect spot!) Since it was spring time the area was still pretty crowded so he suggested we head into a bar for a few cocktails.  After a drink or two it was time to go, I was tired from the long drive and knew we had another drive in the morning.

On the way back to the car Jay asked me to sit down on one of the park benches and he got down on one knee.  I was so surprised I didn't really answer him right away.  After he asked a second time I blurted out something along the lines of... "Of course! Yes!"  After hanging out on the park bench for a while checking out my new ring, we rushed home and started calling our family and friends. The whole night was absolutely perfect!
