| | | Jessica and Daniel got to know each other from a distance while she was in WA and Daniel was Serving in the Air Force in South Korea and Anchorage, AK. After a couple months, he asked her to visit him in AK. Immediately upon her arrival, they were a couple. Although difficult, they got to know each other more and more via a long-distance relationship, to the point that Daniel liked it and needed to put a ring on it. He invited her to visit so they could travel by train to Spencer Glacier and go deep-sea fishing for halibut off of the Kenai Peninsula. |
 | | Unbeknownst to Jessica, Daniel had already designed and bought a diamond ring with the help of family friends at Tom Poe Jewelers in Enumclaw, WA. Without giving it away, they spent some time together, then hopped on the train. Once they arrived at the glacier and were taking a break to enjoy the view, Daniel asked the Forest Service Ranger that had given their tour group a lesson on glacier environments to take their pictures. He whispered to not stop taking pictures after they were done posing. That's when Daniel began talking to Jessica about love and how he has been so happy being with her, then got down on his knee, and surprised her with the diamond and aquamarine (her birth stone) ring. She said YES, and they spent the rest of their trip relaxing at a B&B and fishing for delicious halibut. |
