We met while both living in Trojan Hall, a dormitory for students who received academic scholarships, at the University of Southern California. We were dating within weeks of starting the school year, sharing classic USC experiences such as Trojan football games, trips to the Santa Monica pier, and concerts in McCarthy Quad. We both discovered our mutual love of Disney when we made our first trip to Disneyland together, and subsequently continued to visit the resort almost every weekend with our annual passes in hand. Disney continued to be a part of our romance when we were able to take several trilps to Walt Disney World over the next few years.

However, soon Jaki had to travel to New Mexico State University to study nursing, while James needed to stay at USC to finish his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Our relationship became long distance for two (long!) years, and we were delighted when James landed a job and Jaki was able to return to California

The couple spends their time playing with their two dogs, Charlotte and Henry, and frequenting the farmer’s market in Montrose. They also have volunteered as medical staff for Camp Conrad-Chinnock for the past three summers and they love their camp family!
